This painting I completed in Peru.

During a 2 month journey down there with my wife, who at the time did not know she was about to be proposed to!

That is a story, too good in its length to be made brief here. For this painting it really was born of the feminine inspiration I was feeling and being overwhelmed with while there.

With having excellent and considerate guidance from our hosts who also provided the most fitting space to create. We were able to explore our inner self with trust and companionship.

This depicts to me an Ethiopian woman offering a cup of Huachuma medicine to the responsible recipient.

I’m not certain that has ever been a tradition in the Ethiopian culture, but it is just what was born in to the painting through my letting go and allowing the brush to be my guide again.
